The Cardano Foundation Partners with EMURGO to Develop New dApps

The Cardano Foundation teamed up with its official commercial arm – EMURGO – to launch a joint project. The main goal is to support the ecosystem of the blockchain protocol and accelerate decentralized application development.

‘We Want to Ensure We Enable The Architects of The Future’

According to a recent blog post, the project will consist of a Minimum Viable Product 1 and Minimum Viable Product 2. MVP1 will be composed of a modular tool stack built by Five Binaries (an infrastructure development firm active in the Cardano ecosystem).

The first stage will include the initial release of the Chain Watcher as well as a backend that will act as a proof-of-concept. Five Binaries will also develop blockchain adapters – plug-in components used to bridge Cardano blockchain data employing different methodologies.

During the second stage, MVP2, the Cardano Foundation will connect with numerous partners and projects across the ecosystem. At this phase, each participant requesting to add a new adapter or a backend will have to follow the programming guidelines of the project.

The blog post further noted that the Application Programming Interface (API) enables developers to interact with correct application instances. Its access to Cardano is essential to ensure users can test and launch applications on the blockchain without having deep technological knowledge and experience.

Ken Kodama – CEO of EMURGO – said his entity “fully supports” Cardano’s infrastructure development. “The new tool stack will provide developers with further useful options to build socially impactful dApps” on the blockchain protocol, he added.

In turn, Frederik Gregaard – Chief Executive Officer of the Cardano Foundation – opined that the mutual project marks “the first of a set of open-source architecture.” He also said his organization wants to provide tools to aid the community and create “the architects of the future.”

Cardano’s Veritree to Combat Climate Change

Earlier this year, the Cardano-based blockchain platform – Veritree – teamed up with Samsung to launch a new project oriented for the planet’s greener future. Specifically, the two entities vowed to mobilize the growth and the conservation of more than two million trees on the territory of Madagascar by the end of Q1 2022.

Mark Newton – Head of Corporate Sustainability at Samsung Electronics America – commented back then:

“Investing in tech innovations, such as those that create efficiency improvements and minimize waste, in combination with nature-based solutions, are vital in the fight against climate change.”
