Shiba Inu has a lot of developments in 2022 and all of them are scheduled for launch the same year. From ShibaNet to Shibosis and Shibarium, its ecosystem is ever-expanding with new features for users.

Among the developments, Shibarium is expected to be released first as ShibaSwap lead developer Eric M hinted about its release. He said during a D&A session on Discord that Shibarium will be released “soon”.

What is Shiba Inu’s Upcoming Development Shibarium?

Shiba Inu’s founder Ryoshi first proposed Shibarium in May 2021 in his Medium blog post. The development will make users spend more on the token and receive rewards as the price spikes. Shibarium aims to be its own layer-2 network and not solely depend on the ETH platform for transactions to process ahead.

SHIB will have its own layer-2 solution Shibarium that will surpass the ETH gas fees in the Ethereum network. Basically, Shibaium will provide users with a reduction in gas fees and will be an in-house platform for transactional purposes.

The ETH gas fees sometimes show prices more than the invested amount and depend on how congested the network is. This has put off several investors and many backed out from transacting on the network. Those who went ahead with the transactions have burnt a hole in their pockets by paying large ETH gas fees.

Shibarium aims to undo the burden of gas fees to its users by proving solutions from its in-house development. Ryoshi in his Medium blog also stated that Shibarium layer-2 will use BONE as the primary pair token.

He also stated that BONE will have a fair start of ‘0’ for a level playing field. “But if you are a SHIBA or LEASH holder, don’t worry. Your Shiba holdings will be used to yield Bone at the launch,” he said.

When is Shibarium Layer-2 Release Date?

Shibarium layer-2 is expected to be released during the first quarter of 2022, as per lead developer Eric M’s reply on Discord. When a user asked him about Shibarium’s release date, Eric just replied “soon”.

When the user asked him to provide a timeline for the release, Eric stated that a timeline is not required. “A timeline is not needed when you trust a project. That’s how SHIB has worked until now and will keep being like this,” he said. Eric also stated that the Shiba Inu team is growing as per the requirements and is happy with the evolution.

At the time of publishing, Shiba Inu was trading at $0.002840 and is down -3.59% in the 24-hours day trade.
